Thermalhotel Fontana

The Hotel Restaurant Fontana is a great place close to the entry to the famous Spa of Bad Radkersburg. Here you can relax while you are on rehab or simply taking a time out. The restaurant is nice, light, and it’s comfortable to sit in the patio, which is covered with a sun shield. The Café Melange I had is delicious and the staff is friendly. What more to ask for. I was there for the third time in September 2023. Basically a very nice and good hotel and recommended, but I probably wouldn't book it privately. The service and food have deteriorated significantly in terms of quality and quantity compared to previous years. On the one hand it is due to the requirements of the insurance providers, on the other hand austerity measures were probably taken when it came to food. I was a bit disappointed about that. There used to be more choice and variety at the buffets and the dishes were tastier and more varied. You were rarely asked if you wanted something to drink when you were eating; it was generally very stressful during meal times, which is probably also due to a lack of staff. There was a pool bar outside on the lawn which was rarely and very briefly occupied, so you could only consume one drink at most. The indoor bar closed promptly at 10 p.m. in the evening, so you had to order your last drink about half an hour in advance if you wanted something else. The outdoor smoking area in front of the hotel bar was limited to 2 bar tables with 4 bar stools each, so it was very poor and uncomfortable. Cozy evenings were mostly spent outside the hotel, and only a few guests took advantage of the hotel's offerings. There was another smoking area in a pavilion on the edge of the lawn. Within three weeks I was unable to get an appointment for foot care. However, all the staff were very friendly and accommodating, the rooms were very nice and spacious and always well maintained. The thermal baths and the entire hotel complex are very attractive, the location is perfect. Despite slight "shortcomings", I would be happy to come back for a spa stay!
